sunday hike in the Danube Bend

we'll take the train to Zebegény and hike through the hills above the Danube, with a few beautiful viewpoints along the way ☻

we'll start in Zebegény, make our way up to Kálvária-domb and the Kós Károly kilátó, continue towards the Julianus kilátó on Hegyes-tető. from there we'll pass the Gánti kilátóhely before descending towards Nagymaros.

the Kós Károly kilátó offers views over Zebegény, the Danube and the Pilis, while the Julianus kilátó gives us a wider panorama over the Danube Bend.

we'll finish at Nagymaros-Visegrád railway station and aim to catch the 14:11 train back to Budapest-Nyugati, arriving at 14:54. depending on our pace, we may have some time before the train to walk down to the Danube in Nagymaros, enjoy the view, or grab a coffee ☕️

• ☻we'll take the 9:08 train to Zebegény, arriving at 9:57
• ☻distance: ~8.7 km, ~454 m elevation gain / ~459 m descent
• ☻walking time: around 3 – 3.5 hours including breaks

• ☻bring: Pest County Pass or valid train ticket, at least 1L of water, lunch, comfortable clothes and walking shoes
