joining regularly is the best way to support what we're building. the contribution goes into the events, maintaining the club and the time and care that takes to organize each gathering.

send your membership payment
send 2,000 HUF for the month via Revolut or card. that's it: no accounts, no plans, no automatic renewals.

add your name + month
when making the payment, add your name — the same one you use on Meetup — and the month the membership is for.

register on meetup with your promo code
after you pay for your monthly membership, you'll receive a promo code via Meetup message. this code gives you 100% off any tier 1 event.
to use it:
→ go to the tier 1 event you want to attend on Meetup and click "attend".
→ enter your promo code when prompted.
→ click the arrow to apply the code and make sure the final price shows € 0.00 before completing your registration.
→ once confirmed, your spot is reserved.
if you later can't make it, please update your RSVP so someone else can take your spot.
important: membership does not automatically register you for all tier 1 events. members still need to register on Meetup and apply the promo code to claim their spot.
how event payments work
there are two ways ←
if you want to join a tier 1 event, there are two ways to pay:
join one event — pay directly
if you don't have a membership, you can pay the 400 HUF event contribution directly via the payment link in the event description.
important: don't click “attend” on Meetup. because the event is paywalled, Meetup won't let you register without paying through their system.

- →once the payment is received, you'll be manually added to the Meetup attendee list
- →you'll receive any event-specific information, such as the exact meeting point, directly through Meetup
we prefer this option because it means more of your contribution goes towards supporting unplugged club Budapest, rather than towards payment and platform fees.
why is the Meetup price different?
Meetup doesn't support HUF as an event currency, so event payments made through Meetup are listed in EUR. the platform also applies fees to event payments, and fees are deducted from the amount received by the organizer. because of this, the Meetup price is higher than the direct contribution, while the amount the club receives after fees is roughly equivalent to 400 HUF.
that's why we recommend paying directly via the link in the event description whenever possible.
